La conformite du comportement de ces oscillations quantiques au formalisme de Lifshitz-Kosevich, apporte la preuve de l'existence d'une surface de Fermi fermee a caractere quasi-2D, abritant des quasiparticules coherentes respectant la statistique de Fermi-Dirac, dans la phase pseudogap d'YBCO.

This report documents the testing of a new technology that recovers and utilizes vapors from crude oil storage tanks employed in the oil production and processing industry. Flight deck avionics, driven by an error-nulling algorithm, displayed the speed needed to meet the RTA. To ensure robustness of the algorithm, the ability of 10 two-pilot crews to meet the RTA was tested in nine experimental trials representing a range of realistic conditions including a taxi route change, an RTA change, a departure clearance change, and a crossing traffic hold scenario.

In vivo, we found that ComM was required for efficient comigration of linked genetic markers in Vibrio cholerae and Acinetobacter baylyi, which is consistent with a role in branch migration. Also, ComM was particularly important for integration of tDNA with increased sequence heterology, suggesting that its activity promotes the acquisition of novel DNA sequences.
In vitro, we showed that purified ComM binds ssDNA, oligomerizes into a hexameric ring, and has bidirectional helicase and branch migration activity. Based on these data, we propose a model for tDNA integration during natural transformation. This study provides mechanistic insight into the enigmatic steps involved in tDNA integration and uncovers the function of a protein required for this conserved mechanism of horizontal gene transfer. Our protocol describes the process evaluation embedded within the outcome evaluation whose aim is to evaluate what happened at the time of the PD COMM intervention implementation and to provide findings that will assist in the interpretation of the PD COMM trial results. Furthermore, the aim of the PD COMM process evaluation is to investigate intervention complexity within a theoretical model of how the trialled interventions might work best and why. Drawing from the Normalization Process Theory and frameworks for implementation fidelity, a mixed method design will be used to address process evaluation research questions.
Therapists' and participants' perceptions and experiences will be investigated via in-depth interviews. Critical incident reports, baseline survey data from therapists, treatment record forms and home practice diaries also will be collected at relevant time points throughout the running of the PD COMM trial. Process evaluation data will be analysed independently of the outcome evaluation before the two sets of data are then combined.
To date, there are a limited number of published process evaluation protocols, and few are linked to trials investigating rehabilitation therapies. Face au paradigme positiviste toujours dominant dans l'enseignement des sciences, il a semble utile d'ouvrir un espace de reflexion et de proposer, sous forme d'un modele formel, une orientation pedagogique qui soit plus en resonance avec quelques-unes des preoccupations fondamentales de notre epoque: en particulier celle qui concerne la relation de humain avec son environnement et plus specifiquement, le role de la science dans le faconnement d'une telle relation, par sa contribution a la transformation des conditions de vie, au point de compromettre les equilibres naturels.
En fonction de cette problematique generale, les objectifs de la recherche sont les suivants: 1 definir les elements paradigmatiques, theoriques et axiologiques du modele educationnel a construire et 2 definir ses composantes strategiques. Emergency department ED providers have limited time to evaluate patients at risk for opioid misuse. A validated tool to assess the risk for aberrant opioid behavior may mitigate adverse sequelae associated with prescription opioid misuse. We conducted a prospective observational study of adult patients in a high volume US ED. We performed variable-centered, person-centered, and hierarchical cluster analyses to determine whether provider gestalt, SOAPP-R, or COMM , or a combination, predicted higher misuse risk.

Steering efficiency was defined as the reduction of the TMMC or drug dose in the untargeted area in the presence of magnetic steering versus the negative control no steering. The steering efficiency increased when the magnetic gradient increased. The efficiency decreased when the flow velocity increased and the catheter was closer to the bifurcation.

This work is presented in three scientific articles constituting the corp of this thesis. For the first stage, work related to estimating emissions into the atmosphere was carried out throughout the summer of , on three test areas covering a surface varying between and m2.
The goal was to determine the effect that the air temperature, atmospheric pressure fluctuations, and precipitation, had on methane emissions. The observed effects can mainly be explained by the advective flow, diffusive flow, as well as biological oxidation of methane. Work of the first stage, on the biological oxidation of methane took place over two seasons, the fall of and the summer of Oxidation rate was measures at 60 occasions at four specific locations.
The method used is the flux method for carbon contained in methane and carbon dioxide. Carbon isotopic composition measurements validated the oxidation rates calculated by the flux method. These similarities, first of all, helped establish that approximately wells would presently be sufficient for an optimal network and that the number of wells should progressively decrease to about from now to They then helped complete behavior projections for wells located in the more recent zones based on the behavior of wells situated in the older zones.
Based on the analysis made, three tools were developed. The first is a tool that rapidly evaluates the state of wells in a zone by comparing the average flow of methane collected by each of the wells during a given period with a representative flow curve that the wells should produce. The other two tools estimate the optimal number of wells required for a network based on the projected tons of buried waste over time or the anticipated rate of landfill gas generated. This type of UAV has a symmetrical and simple structure. Thus, its control is relatively easy compared to conventional helicopters. Optimal control can be proven to be an ideal controller to reconcile between the tracking performance and energy consumption. In practice, the linearity requirements are not met, but some elaborations of the linear quadratic regulator have been used in many nonlinear applications with good results.
The linear quadratic controller used in this thesis is presented in two forms: simple and adapted to the state of charge of the battery. Based on the traditional structure of the linear quadratic regulator, we introduced a new criterion which relies on the state of charge of the battery, in order to optimize energy consumption. This command is intended to be used to monitor and maintain the desired trajectory during several maneuvers while minimizing energy consumption.
Both simple and adapted, linear quadratic controller are implemented in Simulink in discrete time. The model simulates the dynamics and control of a quadrotor. Our industrial partner in the aeronautical sector developed an expertise in Life Cycle Assessment LCA and seeks to integrate the costs and the environmental impacts in a systematic way into the ecodesign of products. This model is consistent with defined cost cutting and environmental impacts reduction targets and allows a simple interpretation of the results while minimizing the efforts during data collection. The model is applied for 3D printing as an alternative production process in the manufacturing of an aircraft blocker door. The results showed that 3D printing, when associated with improvement in the topology of the part, allows an improvement both on costs and environmental impacts of the part life cycle.
Nevertheless, the results are sensitive to the productivity of the 3D printing machine, in particular with costs when the productivity of the 3D printing is reduced. This eco-efficiency model presents several opportunities of improvement. A more elaborate definition of the objectives in reduction of environmental impacts would allow to direct the choices in design to considerations of eco-efficiency at a macro level. Moreover, the integration of the social dimension in the model constitutes an important stage to operationalize the stakes of environmental and social responsibility of the company.
Developpement energetique par modelisation et intelligence territoriale: Un outil de prise de decision participative pour le developpement durable des projets eoliens. This thesis focuses on the implementation of a participatory and transparent decision making tool about the wind farm projects. This tool is based on an argumentative framework that reflects the stakeholder's values systems involved in these projects and it employs two multicriteria methods: the multicriteria decision aide and the participatory geographical information systems, making it possible to represent this value systems by criteria and indicators to be evaluated.
The stakeholder's values systems will allow the inclusion of environmental, economic and social-cultural aspects of wind energy projects and, thus, a sustainable development wind projects vision. This vision will be analyzed using the 16 sustainable principles included in the Quebec's Sustainable Development Act. Four specific objectives have been instrumented to favor a logical completion work, and to ensure the development of a successfultool : designing a methodology to couple the MCDA and participatory GIS, testing the developed methodology by a case study, making a robustness analysis to address strategic issues and analyzing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threads of the developed methodology.
The TIMED approach is visually represented by a figure expressing the idea of a co-construction decision and where ail stakeholders are the focus of this methodology. The integration of these four modules allows for the analysis of different implementation scenarios of wind turbines in order to choose the best one based on a participatory and transparent decision-making process that takes into account stakeholders' concerns.
The second objective enabled the testing of TIMED in an ex-post experience of a wind farm in operation since In this test, II people participated representing four stakeholder' categories: the private sector, the public sector, experts and civil society. This test allowed us to analyze the current situation in which wind projects are currently developed in Quebec. The concerns of some stakeholders regarding situations that are not considered in the current context were explored through a third goal. This third objective allowed us to make simulations taking into account the assumptions of strategic levels.
Examples of the strategic level are the communication tools used to approach the host community and the park property type. Finally, the fourth objective, a SWOT analysis with the participation of eight experts, allowed us to verify the extent to which TIMED approach succeeded in constructing four fields for participatory decision-making: physical, intellectual, emotional and procedural. From these facts, strengths, 28 weaknesses, 32 constraints and 54 opportunities were identified.
Contributions, applications, limitations and extensions of this research are based on giving a participatory decision-making methodology taking into account socio-cultural, environmental and economic variables; making reflection sessions on a wind farm in operation; acquiring MCDA knowledge for participants involved in testing the proposed methodology; taking into account the physical, intellectual, emotional and procedural spaces to al1iculate a participatory decision; using the proposed methodology in renewable energy sources other than wind; the need to an interdisciplinary team for the methodology application; access to quality data; access to information technologies; the right to public participation; the neutrality of experts; the relationships between experts and non-experts; cultural constraints; improvement of designed indicators; the implementation of a Web platform for participatory decision-making and writing a manual on the use of the developed methodology.

Ingenierie de nanoparticules plasmoniques robustes pour la generation de bulles par laser en vue d'applications biomedicales. Les chirurgiens generent des bulles dans le corps humain a l'aide d'irradiation laser depuis plusieurs decennies. Ils utilisent ces bulles comme de petits scalpels, leur permettant de faire des incisions precises et localisees. Une des applications de cet outil chirurgical est la perforation cellulaire. Au lieu d'utiliser une aiguille pour perforer la membrane des cellules, il est possible de focaliser des impulsions laser en surface d'une cellule, formant un plasma au point focal du laser et generant une bulle qui perfore la membrane cellulaire.
Toutefois, ce procede est assez lent et la perforation massive de cellules in-vivo n'est pas envisageable. Pour accelerer le processus, il est possible d'utiliser des nanoparticules plasmoniques. Ces dernieres agissent comme des nano-antennes qui permettent de concentrer la lumiere sur une echelle nanometrique. La possibilite d'irradier un grand nombre de nanoparticules simultanement a donne un nouvel elan a la generation de bulle comme outil de perforation cellulaire.
L'utilisation de nanoparticules dans un contexte biomedical comporte toutefois certains risques. En particulier, la fragmentation de nanoparticules peut augmenter la toxicite du traitement. Dans un cas ideal, il est preferable d'utiliser des nanoparticules qui ne sont pas endommagees par l'irradiation laser. Cette these a pour but de developper une methode d'ingenierie de nanoparticules robustes permettant la generation efficace de bulles a des fins biomedicales. Il est tout d'abord demontre experimentalement que la formation de plasma est bel et bien le mecanisme physique principal menant a la generation de bulles lors de l'irradiation infrarouge longueur d'onde de nm et ultrarapide temps d'impulsion entre 45 fs et 1 ps de nanoparticules d'or de nm.
